Let’s dive in…

Successful business people have one thing in common:

They’re lifelong students.

Always learning.

Adopting the student mentality maximizes growth and success in business. I’m a walking example of this…

I run a $30M business.

I’m always trying to learn about new things across a wide range of topics.

There’s no “we made it” in business.

Always learning. Always upskilling. Always improving.

On top of that, here are 3 reasons you should adopt the student mentality in your own life and business:

1. Someone Has Figured It Out

Whatever problem you have, someone else has figured out how to solve it.

I’ll concede that if you are working on cutting edge R&D, maybe you’re breaking new ground but then you should read another newsletter.

Why spend hours reinventing the wheel when you can read newsletters like this and figure out solutions in 10 minutes?

2. It helps keep others honest

You wear many hats as a business owner.

Educating yourself allows you to better evaluate what you are getting.

You can’t fully delegate or outsource something unless you have a basic understanding of it.

Even vetting a vendor or employee requires some knowledge to evaluate their capabilities.

3. Personal Growth

Being a lifelong student exposes you to different schools of thought, expanding your perspectives on life and business.

In the roller coaster ride of entrepreneurship, having that expanded perspective can be what gets you through the hard times.

Education is essential in continuing to push forward.

Keep growing,

Alan
